On the 25th April 2015, a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake hit Nepal which claimed over 9000 lives and injured 23,000 and caused mass destruction to houses and in some areas, whole villages. The continuous aftershocks left 3million people homeless and in need of food, shelter and clean water, and months later hundreds of thousands of people still remain without a home.

The progress Jay Nepal has made on the ground, in the aftermath of the earthquakes, has created not only a very positive reaction from the Nepali people, but also an awareness and engagement in action for the younger Nepali generation.

Jay Nepal is an action-based humanitarian team that is officially registered as an NGO in Nepal, as well as a sister NGO (onlus) in Rome, Italy. We are a volunteer-based, apolitical and non-religious, group working on post-earthquake responses, relief and recovery in communities across Nepal.

Time  FEMALE CANDIDATE who has desire to work in the  FINANCE SECTOR and seeks sincere ownership of the position, with care, attention and total dedication to the work.

Head of Finance Working Stations:

  • Sindhupalchowk (Rural Village):15 days/month
  • Kathmandu valley (Patan area):10 days/month

Head of Finance Candidate Description:

  • Should be a Female for Head of Finance
  • Young and Energetic
  • Experienced for Head of Finance
  • Multitasking with excellent Numerical Skills
  • Fluent Verbal and Written English

Head of Finance Responsibilities:

  • You will be LEADING a small finance and administration team with responsibilities for the following key-areas
  • Financial Management and Budgeting
  • Management of Statutory Reporting, ensuring that our work and procedures complies laws
  • Efficient Cost-Control of the organisation projects and activities, to prevent any waste and loss
  • Office Administration
  • Executive support to the leadership team and international colleagues and partners

Holidays/Leave : 5 days/month

Pay: NPR 30.000,00 + (“Plus” depending on your experience and skills).

Head of Finance Mandatory Requirements for Applying: 

  • Possessing own motorbike and driving license
  • Experience of Accountancy;  or Finance; or  Economics;  or Mathematics; or Business
  • Solid knowledge of Accounting procedures and Financial regulations
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Quick interaction on media platforms as Whatsapp etc
  • Great Communication and Negotiation skills for Head of Finance
  • Ability to work fast and do extra-time when needed for Head of Finance
  • Written and verbal skills in English
  • Full independence to move around and out the Kathmandu Valley
